The great thing about the Bosch MRC23EVSK is that it’s smooth, stable, and dependable. It works like a dream. I can do so many things sooner, faster, and more effectively with this device than any other comparable router out there. Specs only go so far when judging a router; the proof is in the pudding.
When I used the MRC23EVSK, I got so many woodworking projects done. One after the other, I kept on making cabinets, fixing furniture, and doing plunge cuts for my metalwork sink. Everything is easier with the Bosch MRC23EVSK. I definitely give this wonderful piece of equipment a solid 9.5 out of 10.
Things to Improve
Although it’s acknowledged that the highly rated Bosch MRC23EVSKmachine is solid and performs its routing tasks excellently, it does have its flaws. It needs improvement in terms of under-the-table dust collection. It lacks dust collection but instead has dust exhaust ports, meaning cleanup solely rests upon the operator after the routing has been done.
It has an attachment (sold separately) for dust collection, but it’s not close enough to capture every last speck of dust, so it’s not very efficient at its job. The micro-fine adjustment also suffers from complaints regarding complete height adjustment range from above the table. The LEDs aren’t that efficient either.
Conclusion
While the Bosch MRC23EVSK is flawed, it’s not fundamentally flawed. Many of the complaints leveled against it were from operators who were used to doing one thing and isn’t open to alternative ways of handling a routing operation. If you ignore the outlier complaints, the MRC23EVSK earns its 9.5/10 rating in more ways than one.
It has the power to spare, its speed is as controllable as the speed of your car, and you’re not wasting any of its power and speed because you’re in full control of it due to its multiple control features ranging from the Constant Response Circuitry (that ensures consistent speed under load) to its easy and precise adjustment no matter the plunge setting you’ve chosen.
